Report: EU works on 11th package of anti-Russian sanctions
MOSCOW, Apr 14 (PRIME) -- The E.U. is preparing for introduction of the 11th package of anti-Russian sanctions, E.U. Commissioner for Financial Stability Mairead McGuinness said in an interview to CNBC aired on Friday.
The E.U. should be sure that Russia is unable to find bypasses of the sanctions, she said.
Politico newswire earlier reported quoting three European diplomats that the E.U. planned to discuss the new sanction package right after the Catholic Easter, and European Commission’s President Ursula von der Leyen said previously that the 11th sanction package would include measures against bypasses of the existing restrictions.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said in a Twitter statement that U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and him had discussed toughening of the anti-Russian sanctions and the financial help that should be provided for recovery of Ukraine.
